Chief of Staff - UNIQA IT (all genders)
Competencies: Courage; Ensures Accountability; Instills Trust; Values Differences

At UNIQA, we believe we achieve more together. We’re actively shaping the future of insurance — with innovative technology, strong teams and people at the heart of it: our customers and our colleagues. Become part of our transformation and bring your perspective. Apply as Chief of Staff - UNIQA IT (all genders).
As Chief of Staff, you are the thinking partner and right hand to the Head of Group Data & IT — and you serve the effectiveness of the whole UNIQA IT leadership team. You work through the Head’s mandate on behalf of the team — a leverage role — giving the leadership of UNIQA IT focus, coherence and follow-through. You orchestrate the leadership team’s operating rhythm, you own the steered narrative of IT’s strategic impact and value, and you lead special projects on the Head’s behalf. You report to the Head of Group Data & IT.
What you can expect:
- You’ll be the thinking partner and trusted sounding board to the Head of Group Data & IT — stress-testing ideas, offering candid counsel, and bringing the strategic perspectives as well as blind spots that are easy to miss in day-to-day operations.
- You’ll prepare decisions and keep strategy coherent — turning options into clear recommendations, making sure the right topics get attention at the right time and strategic intent and operational execution stay aligned.
- You’ll own the IT narrative to the board — one consistent, actively steered story of IT’s strategic impact and value.
- You’ll synthesise the bigger picture — integrating signals from across UNIQA IT and 14 countries into clear insight, and consolidating OKRs and delivery status into one transparent view.
- You’ll orchestrate the leadership team — running its operating rhythm so topics are addressed and commitments move forward.
- You’ll independently lead critical, inter-disciplinary projects on behalf of the Head of Group Data & IT, that fall outside or reach across the traditional line organization.
What we expect:
- You’ve worked close to executive leadership — as a Chief of Staff, in strategy/transformation, top-tier consulting, or a leadership role in strategic-PMO / business-management — in large, complex organizations.
- You think strategically and structure ambiguity — turning complexity into clear board-grade syntheses, sound decision memos and compelling narratives.
- You communicate brilliantly at executive level — board-grade storytelling and presentation craft.
- You’ve orchestrated cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of technology and business value and driven follow-through without relying on formal authority.
- Trust and discretion define you — you handle confidential matters with absolute integrity, and the entire leadership team trusts you as a neutral sounding board.
- You read people and politics well, build bridges between different domains, organizational models and across country borders, and create impact through relationships rather than position.
- You bring a strong spine and low ego — the confidence to challenge anyone in the room, the maturity to put the team’s impact ahead of your own visibility, and the steadiness to stay calm when priorities shift fast.
- You’re at home across cultures and languages — fluent in German and English.
Please note: application deadline is July 15th 17:00. We will not be able to take any applications after this deadline.
