Managing Director (all genders) of UNIQA IT Services GmbH

Competencies: Ensures Accountability; Drives Vision and Purpose; Instills Trust

At UNIQA, we believe we achieve more together. We’re actively shaping the future of insurance — with innovative technology, strong teams and people at the heart of it: our customers and our colleagues. Become part of our transformation and bring your perspective. Apply as Managing Director (all genders) of UNIQA IT Services GmbH.

As one of two jointly responsible Managing Directors, you lead a central part of UNIQA IT: one team across roles, locations and legal entities, delivering services to Austrian business and to the Group. With your fellow Managing Director you share entrepreneurial responsibility, each shaping your own portfolio of services and stakeholders.

What you can expect:

  • You’ll be part of the top leadership team of UNIQA IT, setting direction with your peers: the Head of Group Data & IT, your fellow MD and the Head of IT Governance & Security.
  • You’ll make delivery dependable and genuinely valued — safeguarding Austrian and group-wide innovation, delivery, quality, service levels and continuous improvement.
  • You’ll build one UNIQA IT: partnering closely with your fellow MD, connecting Group Data & IT and local teams, creating clear transparency on the business impact of IT.
  • You’ll grow people and culture — developing leaders and colleagues, maturing our agile, product-oriented way of working (SAFe), and nurturing a collaborative culture.
  • You’ll help shape our future strategically — evolving how we work and how we scale AI into real, measurable value.

What we expect:

  • You’ve led large, complex IT organizations (several hundred people), ideally with managing-director or P&L responsibility in a corporate context.
  • You’ve run IT service or delivery organizations with genuine service-provider discipline — SLAs, shared services, outsourcing or captive governance.
  • You bring experience from regulated industries (financial services or insurance); familiarity with DORA, IT risk and compliance is a welcome plus.
  • You’ve scaled agile, product-oriented ways of working (SAFe) — and you stay calm and constructive when the context is ambiguous and still taking shape.
  • You share leadership as a true partner: co-managing without silos, building consensus across functions and entities, putting what unites above what divides.
  • You lead from evidence and dialogue, let your actions follow your words, and see service excellence as a mindset, not a question of status.
  • You’re at home across cultures and languages — fluent in German and English — and stay resilient and optimistic in fast-changing situations.
  • You care genuinely about people and develop colleagues and culture with heart, not only structure.

Please note: application deadline is July 15th 17:00. We will not be able to take any applications after this deadline.

At UNIQA, we embrace diversity and consciously foster different perspectives in our teams and leadership positions. We therefore explicitly welcome applications that enrich our diversity.
